Burning Permits

Disclaimer:  Burning restrictions and Minnesota DNR policy regarding open
burning are subject to change, are beyond our control, and such information is
not maintained regularly on this web site.  Contact our store or the Minnesota
DNR to get the most current information regarding burning.

Our store owner is a volunteer fire warden for the Minnesota Department of
Natural Resources.  We issue burning permits for properties located within Isanti
County.  Permits are free of charge and generally are written for a period of three
days.  Recreational fires of three feet in diameter or less usually do not require a
permit.  Burning restrictions and/or bans usually go into effect in the early Spring
or during times when vegetation is extraordinarily dry.  To get all of the latest

Burning Tips

- Don't burn within 50 feet of any building

- Always have a source of water readily available to keep the fire under control

- Respect your neighbors, keep all fires well within your own property

- Don't burn garbage - vegetative material only

- Always have someone watching the fire

- Never use gasoline to start a fire
